PETERBOROUGH - The Trent Central Student Association (TCSA) is delighted to announce a landmark exclusive event partnership contract with Kawartha Entertainment Group Inc. (KEGI), a local organization founded by local businessman and Trent Business Council Co-Chair, Michael Skinner, for the 2014-2015 academic term.

“This partnership will promote student involvement and engagement with downtown communities,” said Braden Freer, President of the TCSA. “It is our hope that the partnership will ensure the promotion of inclusive and safe spaces for students to relax and enjoy their time in Peterborough. We are excited for the endless possibilities that having a partnership like this will open up. ”

Student groups have been working with Kawartha Entertainment Group Inc. since the opening of The Venue in 2010, and have experienced a great number of highly successful and fulfilling events due to the efforts of the staff. The TCSA believes that this partnership will facilitate further engagements between KEGI and student groups, and potential benefits for both organizations.

“The TCSA mandate ensures that the overall student experience, for all student groups, is unique, fun and relevant,” said Michael Skinner, President and CEO of the Kawartha Entertainment Group. “We are very honored to have been selected as the exclusive event partner by the TCSA and to play a supporting role. Furthermore, the fact that the TCSA recognizes the vital importance of our downtown in the social make up of our city demonstrates what it is to be a true community partner.”

The Trent Central Student Association is the student union that represents all full-time undergraduate and consecutive education students at Trent University. In addition to its advocacy and lobby efforts, the TCSA also provides a variety of services and events for its members including a Community Resource Centre & Alternative Library, a consignment used book service, student discount map, free student agenda, a student benefits plan, social events, concerts, lectures and more with the intent of augmenting the education of Trent students with various forms of activities.

The Kawartha Entertainment Group Inc. (KEGI) is an organization specialized in all aspects of event management and creation since 2001. The events range from conferences, tradeshows, concerts, DJ events, intimate live music sets and outdoor festivals. The KEGI recipe for success has been to combine diverse but highly skilled team members with state of the art infrastructure and facilities. Today, KEGI has three permanent locations: The Venue, Whiskey Club and Dolce Vita. The Venue is a multi-purpose event space with a capacity to hold more than 900 guests. With the Venue’s unique three-level design it makes it an ideal space to hold events that cater to 19+, all ages and a combination. The Whiskey Club consists of two different atmospheres: the indoor Whiskey Club which has an old world feel that blends exposed brick with historic Whiskey barrels and a private Whiskey tasting room, and the outdoor Terrace, which is Peterborough’s largest outdoor licensed patio with a combined capacity of 230 on its two levels and has the feel of a Caribbean escape. Dolce Vita is Peterborough’s newest and only Authentic Italian Restaurant with an excellent décor, amazing customer service and a menu personally designed by KEGI’s red seal executive chef.  In additional to KEGI’s permanent locations, KEGI has a mobile event team that can assist organizations in all aspects of outdoor events from catering trucks, liquor/beer pouring, logistics, security, entertainment booking, financial services and overall event project management.
