Nassau Mills Road Closure & Detour

A message from Facilities Management regarding the Nassau Mills Road closure and Pioneer Road detour plans

First detour begins May 1 until June 2, 2017, and the second detour will occur following Convocation.

As part of the City of Peterborough's reconstruction of Pioneer Road in 2017-2018, two detours will be put in place over the course of the construction period. The City will erect appropriate detour signs to facilitate vehicular and pedestrian/bicycle traffic during this period. Detour plans are as follows:

  1. Detour Plan #1 (May 1 - June 2, 2017): This detour plans for a one-month closure of a small portion of Nassau Mills Road, just north of Pioneer Road. This will force traffic on the east bank of campus to be re-routed to use Pioneer Road and East Bank Drive. The transit stop at the DNA building will be closed during this time; please use Gzowski bus stop as an alternative. This closure will be from approximately May 1 to June 2, 2017. The roadway will be re-opened for Convocation ceremonies at Trent.
  2. Detour Plan #2 (following Convocation): This detour plans for the closure of Pioneer Road between Nassau Mills Road and East Bank Drive. This closure will be longer in duration, but will only begin after Convocation. The Trent community will then rely primarily on the use of Nassau Mills Road to access the east bank side of campus.

Any modifications to the detour routes and the duration of closure will be communicated through signage on-site by the City of Peterborough and shared on MyTrent. Motorists and pedestrians/cyclists should pay close attention at all times to avoid any accidents or injury in the area of construction.

If you have any questions about the project, please contact the City of Peterborough. For questions related to Trent University, please contact Robbert Ballarin, Project Manager, Facilities Management.
