Joshna Maharaj is a chef, a two-time TEDx speaker, and a food activist who wants to help everyone have a better relationship with their food. She'll be at Trent for a few days and as part of her visit we are excited to welcome BIPOC students to a conversation about food security and food sovereignty.
Food systems are not immune to the power dynamics that can create marginalization. Social justice can extend to what is on our plates – and how we access healthy, culturally appropriate, affordable food is a complex question.
Join a conversation with Joshna about food sovereignty and about how food relates to activism. What is on our plates? How we can better support access to healthy, culturally appropriate food? Join us for a conversation - and of course, some food
