Members of the Muslim community at Trent are invited to meet with Farheen Khan, founder of the Women's Mosque of Canada and member of the Multi-Faith Network at Trent University. Farheen Khan will speak about her experience founding the Women's Mosque, and will facilitate a space for the Muslim community to share about their experiences at Trent.
Farheen's bio:
Farheen Khan is the founder and Imama of Canada's first and only Women's Mosque. Farheen is also an author as well as a Muslim Chaplain at Trent University. In 2016, Farheen was awarded the J.S. Woodworth Award for Human Rights and Equity and is widely regarded as an advocate and ally for marginalized communities. She continues to play a crucial role in assisting women fleeing severe domestic, intimate partner, religious and honor-based violence across Canada.
