Title: Events & Resources Assistant
Job’s Purpose:
The Events & Resources Assistant serves the membership by promoting the related activities of the Association. Working under the direction of the Communications Manager, the Services Manager, and the General Manager, the Events & Resources Assistant is intended to be a key support in the organization of student initiatives and events.
Wage & Hours: $18.00/hour, 8 to 12 hours/week
Work Terms:
1 staff, February 2025 to April 2025
Statutory holiday pay (20% of 4-week average weekly earnings)
Potential work over reading week and exam periods
4 paid sick shifts
4% vacation pay on gross
Description Summary:
Under the direction of the Communications Manager, liaise with office staff and the Executive team to communicate with students and the community all up-to-date news and upcoming events, services and campaigns through all available means, including MyTrent and the Association's website.
Be responsible for the documentation of TCSA events, including website scheduling and photography.
Be responsible, along with the Community Coordinator and Services Manager, for maintaining the clubs storage space.
Sit on Events Committee and support the events running on behalf of the Association.
Responsible for the purchasing and procurement of supplies, adhering to a budget, for Association events and campaigns.
Assist when able with the set-up, facilitation, and planning of events; engage with membership.
Work in collaboration with the Brand Ambassador Team to promote TCSA events and services.
Maintain a clean office space, sweeping, dusting, organizing, and restocking over-the-counter items.
Under the direction of the Communications Manager and adhering to Association branding guidelines, create promotional media for TCSA social media accounts.
Other tasks as assigned.
Opportunity Requirements
Education:
Current and returning undergraduate students attending Trent University are encouraged to apply.
Experience Required:
Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google Suite)
Must have excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills (both verbal and written).
Works collaboratively with others.
Ability to work independently.
Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Canva, and other editing software is considered an asset.

Extended periods of standing and speaking with others in person.
Ability to multitask, shift priorities with frequent interruptions.
Ability to reprioritize work based on new/unexpected issues that arise.
Actively listening to questions and concerns and responding with detailed responses.

Regular lifting and moving of Association supplies.
