Chai and Chaat

Trent Vegetable Gardens is collaborating with Gzowski College to bring you a small cooking class!

Since the theme of this event is Indian food, there will be a demonstration on how to make Chaat and karak chai! Do not miss out on this opportunity. We will be going live on Friday, November 12th at 12pm to show you hot to make the chai and chaat. Missed the Instagram? Masala chai is a tea beverage made by boiling black tea in milk and water with a mixture of aromatic herbs and spices. Originating in India, the beverage has gained worldwide popularity, becoming a feature in many coffee and tea houses.

What you'll need:

  • Loose Leaf Tea

  • Cardamom

  • Cloves

  • Ginger

  • Evaporated Milk (can be substituted with any other dairy free option)

  • Sugar (optional)

Chana Chaat is a tasty, tangy and easy snack made with white chickpeas (chana or chole), spices, herbs, onions, tomatoes and lemon. This chaat is quick to assemble if you have canned or leftover boiled chickpeas.

What you'll need:

  • Chickpea can

  • Onion

  • Chaat masala

  • Tomatoes

  • Cilantro

  • Lemon juice

  • Cucumbers
