Post-COP26 Youth Panel Discussion

  • TCSA 1680 West Bank Drive, Trent Student Centre 2.15, Trent University Peterborough Canada (map)

COP (Conference of the Parties) is the annual United National Conference on Climate change that takes place in a different city each year.

This year is the 26th COP (or COP26) and the Kawartha Wold Issues Centre will be hosting a Post-COP26 Panel Discussion on Wednesday, November 17th from 12pm-1pm on Zoom.

It has been 5 years since COP21 in Paris, where the Paris Agreement was created. It was decided that every 5 years since Paris, countries would come forward with new targets and ambitions. COP26 was meant to take place last year but was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Since the last COP, climate change has continued to intensify and the effects have become more evident worldwide.

Join us for a reflective panel discussion on COP26 with youth activists who attended and participated in the event. Hear from both local and international youth and their thoughts and experiences with COP26. This panel discussion will break down what happened at COP and what the next steps are moving forward. We hope you can join us to hear the takeaways from those who attended COP26.
