PERIOD.
In a world striving for equality and inclusivity, addressing a fundamental aspect of menstrual health is imperative: unfortunately, many individuals around the globe face challenges accessing menstrual products due to economic constraints, societal stigmas, or inadequate resources.
The TCSA’s new "Period." campaign aims to break down these barriers and advocate for free menstrual products to ensure dignity, equality, and health for all menstruators. We are spearheading campus-wide initiatives by providing free and readily available menstrual products in the TCSA office and across campus. By ensuring equitable access to period care, the TCSA empowers students to focus on their studies without worrying about financial constraints or stigma.
Menstrual products are a necessity, not a luxury. Access to these products is essential for maintaining health, dignity, and participation in daily activities. Period poverty affects individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and socioeconomic statuses. It is a widespread issue that requires immediate attention and action. Accessible menstruation products empower individuals to take control of their health and well-being. Together, we can champion inclusivity, promote gender equality, and pave the way for a future where menstruation is no longer a barrier to success.
The TCSA is also happy to be a new partner of Period Pin! Our office is on the Period Pin map, a Canada-wide map that makes it easy for menstruators to find the free products they need, when they need them, from libraries, museums community-based organizations, and some private businesses–all committed to providing free menstrual products. Visit periodpin.ca to find out where you can access free menstrual products wherever you are, across the country.
