The Freedom Lounge, over the past year, has become a space that owns its magic, walks in its purpose and rocks its truth. The Freedom Lounge has always been a place for community, empowerment and honouring individual histories. Having the Freedom Lounge be a space that is filled with different student artwork pieces that embody distinct cultural histories that have often been ignored by Eurocentric art institutions. The very presence of more BIPOC and Racialized student artwork within the Freedom Lounge is an identifier that more BIPOC and Racialized art belongs in Eurocentric institutions, even if BIPOC and Racialized students are the ones responsible for getting it there.
