The second annual Mind Your Mind Mental Health Symposium will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 10am to 4pm in Gzowski College.
The purpose on this event is to increase and encourage conversations surrounding mental health through and with respect to different cultural perspectives.
This year, we will be part of dis-orientation and have some amazing guest speakers and workshops planned. From 'Politics and Mental Health' presented by Pascale Diverlus (co-founder of Black Lives Matter -Toronto), to a workshop on how the gut microbiota plays a role on mental health presented by Kirk Hillsey (Trent University Professor), Mental health 101 presented by Kate MacIsaac, an Indigenous cultural training presented by folks from Indigenize and more!
As students that are passionate about increasing advocacy around mental health on campus that come from different cultures and upbringings, we believe that these conversations need to be had all across campus, and would especially love to reach out more students this year—including this years incoming first year students!
Food will be provided to all participants. Registration for this event is FREE by clicking here.
