'Excaliburnt Out' Burnout Bonfire Bash

  • TCSA 1680 West Bank Drive, Trent Student Centre 2.15, Trent University Peterborough Canada (map)

We would like to invite you to the 'Excaliburnt Out’ initiative. This effort is dedicated to de-corporatization, and to address the strain of over-enrolment at Trent University. You, being a student at this university are likely aware of this and are being impacted in a multiplicity of ways such as, but not limited to:

  • HOUSING CRISIS

  • FOOD INSECURITY

  • INSUFFICIENT MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES

  • LACK OF COMMITMENT TO EDID (Equity, Diversity, Inclusivity, & Decolonization)

  • LACK OF ACCESSIBLE HYBRID LEARNING

  • UNSUSTAINABLE TUITION

WE ARE EXCALIBURNT OUT: We do not deserve to be treated like entitled customers. We cannot be pacified through performative ‘allyship’ or superficial changes. Rather, we deserve to be authentically and meaningfully supported. We deserve better.

We must remind the administration that “PROFIT SHOULD NEVER DISCOUNT QUALITY EDUCATION!”

Stand with Us, Rally with Us, & Fight for a Better Trent!:

If you, or your membership are impacted in any way by these issues at Trent, you are not alone. We stand strong in solidarity with Trent’s faculty and staff. We want to take action and mobilize together, as one student body, as one student movement. On Friday, November 18th 2022 from 5:00pm to 11:00pm you are invited to participate in the ‘Burnout Bonfire Bash,’ the activity schedule is listed below:

  1. ‘Arts and Crafts’ starting at 5:00pm (while supplies last) Button making, painting, print-making, and bring your own t-shirt decorating.

  2. ‘De-Stressor Pumpkin Bash and Tomato Target Smashing’ starting at 5:00pm (while supplies last) -> Supplies are limited.

  3. ‘Photobooth’ starting at 5:00pm until 11:00pm students can take photos with a foam sword, ‘Burnout Bonfire Bash’ signage, or their paint/print creations beside the balloon arch.
