Be Kind Rewind: Whose University Is It Watch-a-long & Discussion

Friday, Feb. 17th from 8pm to 10pm on Zoom | Register here

Join us in a critical discussion about Trent's Administration's decision-making processes, the political campus climate, and the agency of the student body's voice.

“Whose University Is It?” is a documentary that investigates the strange case of Trent University’s corporatization. The 2003 film provides a look into student advocacy and the Administration’s history of profit-driven decision-making. When the Neoliberalist agenda dictates post-secondary institutions, and students are arrested for a peaceful protest one must wonder at the end of the day, “whose university is it?”

Profit should never discount quality education, yet here we are 20 years later facing the same inadequacy and insufficient support resources and to top it off over-enrolment. Offsetting costs and making international students foot the bill isn’t a cost-effective solution, it’s exploitation. Trent, you Bata step it up.
