Position Title: Board Liaison

Job's Purpose:

The Board Liaison provides leadership, coordination, and administrative support to the Association's Executive team and Board of Directors. Working under the direction of the Association Resource Manager, the Board Liaison ensures effective communication, organization, accountability, and continuity across the Association's elected leadership.

Wage & Hours:

$23.30/hr, 20 hrs/wk.

Work Terms: 

  • Statutory holiday pay (20% of 4-week average weekly earnings)

  • Potential work over reading week & exam periods; winter break off

  • 4 paid sick shifts 

  • 4% vacation pay on gross

Description Summary: 

  • Lead and support the Executive Team: Provide guidance to Executives and Directors, help establish annual goals, and coordinate their work.

  • Support the Board of Directors: Maintain clear communication between the Executive Team and Board, provide regular updates, and report on activities, events, and campaigns.

  • Coordinate strategic planning: Lead the annual development of the Association's Strategic Plan with the Executive Committee.

  • Manage meetings and communications: Chair Executive Committee meetings, organize monthly check-ins, and ensure monthly updates are provided to the Board.

  • Oversee Executive administration: Track Executive hours, vacation, sick days, and lieu time, and maintain project-management tools and progress trackers.

  • Facilitate leadership transitions: Coordinate the Shadow Period, support incoming and outgoing Executives, and ensure transition reports are completed.

  • Support events and campaigns: Participate in the Events Committee, assist with event planning and procurement, manage budgets, and coordinate required risk assessments.

  • Maintain organizational records: Document committee discussions and decisions and maintain records for Trent and Association committees.

  • Support elections: Assist with election promotion and recruitment of candidates for the Association's Board.

  • Coordinate training: Work with the Association Resource Manager to organize at least four summer training sessions for the Executive Team.
