Position Title: Lead Electoral Officer
Job's Purpose:
The Lead Electoral Officer shall be ultimately responsible for the execution and coordination of the Association's fall by-elections:
The Lead Electoral Officer shall act as the Chair of the Elections Committee.
The Lead Electoral Officer shall be familiar with and act in accordance with Association policy and by-laws regarding elections.
The Lead Electoral Officer shall be responsible for enforcing compliance with Association procedures and policies by all nominees, candidates, or referenda committees, with the aid of the Deputy Electoral Officer. This shall be done in consultation with the Elections Committee when the punishment being considered is disqualification. Minutes of said decision(s) shall be documented and available upon request.
The Lead Electoral Officer shall be responsible to, and report directly to, the Board of Directors. The Lead Electoral Officer shall make a formal written report to the Board at each meeting while elections/referenda are in progress. At the conclusion of each election, the Lead Electoral Officer shall make a formal written report to the Board of Directors that shall contain a detailed summary of the election and/or referendum process followed.
Wage & Hours:
$1650 honorarium, flexible hours (15-20 hrs/week)
Education:
Recent graduates from Trent University, Alumni, graduate students or Trent professional staff are encouraged to apply for the position.

Working Conditions:
Extended periods of time working at a computer station
Attend November 8th Board meetings virtual
Busy office environment that may be noisy at times. Unavoidable busy periods with deadlines that must be met are a responsibility of this role.

End Date: November 8th Board Meeting for Ratification
