Over the past several years, the TCSA has been working to build on the recommendations of the 2021 Anti-Racism Review, strengthening our policies, our governance, and the ways we support Black, Indigenous, and racialized students on campus.
We're now taking the next step: a fresh, independent look at where things stand. The TCSA has engaged Williams HR Consulting Inc. (WHRC), an independent consulting firm with experience in equity and anti-racism work in post-secondary settings, to conduct an Anti-Racism Assessment.
The first step in that process is hearing directly from Students. Attached is a link to a short, confidential survey, developed independently by WHRC. It's your opportunity to share your experience and perspective on equity and anti-racism at the TCSA and at Trent.
We especially want to hear from Black, Indigenous, and racialized international students. Your experiences are central to this review.
This is not an investigation into a specific incident. It's a proactive effort to understand student experience and make meaningful, lasting change.
Confidentiality
While the survey link will be shared through TCSA's communication channels, the survey itself is administered and analyzed independently by Williams HR Consulting. Your individual responses will be kept strictly confidential and will not be linked to your identity or shared with the TCSA in any identifiable form. WHRC will report the results in aggregate, so the focus is on the overall themes and patterns raised by students, not on any one person's answers.
Timing
The survey has launched and will remain open until October 27th. It takes approximately 12 to 15 minutes to complete. We encourage every student to take the time to participate.
